Meditation is a subject that for many is shrouded in mystery, but in fact it is a fundamentally simple and non-religious method for improving our lives in many different ways.

In recent years there has been a lot of scientific investigation into meditation and the mental states that can be induced. Experienced meditators have been scanned on MRI machines in research facilities and found to have measurable differences in how their brains operate. These differences are possible because of training and not some inherent genetic gift. Meditation is something that anyone can do.

The truth is that if we can think a thought and hold it, even if only for a few seconds, then we can meditate. Even if we have poor concentration at first, over time our ability will improve.

The meditation articles on this site are my personal attempt to demystify something that is ultimately very simple and within reach of us all.

A regular meditation practice can have real health benefits in terms of lowering stress and blood pressure as well as the possibility of producing a real and lasting sense of personal well being.

Surely ten minutes of your time, twice a day, is a worthy investment in yourself; especially if it can bring real contentment and health benefits?
